Here is Penn Jillette explaining why he doesn’t drink or do drugs. I think his observations are sound: namely that drugs & alcohol can make you dumber. Where I depart from him is that I do drink. I don’t do drugs but I think that’s a minor point. Alcohol can do plenty to you both physically and mentally (really, though, the brain is physical). I drink a lot more than I should and I’ve noticed the effects. Now, what should I do about it? Hmm…
